    Catholic Schools Week Celebration
    January 27 - 31, 2020

    Monday: Breakfast for Faculty and Staff sponsored by the PTA
    Opening Mass in the Chapel at 12:45 pm
    Silly Hat and Sock Day

    Tuesday: Movie Day with Popcorn/ Students will be treated to an afternoon movie in their classrooms with popcorn sponsored by the PTA.

    Wednesday: Bingo/ After lunch students in Pre-K thru 8 with older students assisting younger ones will sit together for five Bingo games with prizes including dress down days, homework passes and class ice cream parties.

    Thursday: Grandparents'/Special Persons' Day Celebration/ Students will perform by class in a patriotic themed show followed by refreshments for all.

    Friday: Eighth Grade Pep Rally/ Volley Ball Game
    Faculty and Staff Luncheon sponsored by the PTA
    Early Dismissal for Students

     Sunday, February 9th, 9 am - 1 pm

    Childhood Mission Association
    Friday, January 17, 2020 will be the last day that mission boxes will be accepted.
    If you prefer to send a check, please make it payable to the Mission Childhood Association.

    Diocesan Tuition Assistance Program 2020-21 School Year

    For Families with Children Attending Catholic Schools

    Tuition assistance is awarded each year to families with children in our Catholic schools in grades K-12.  Awards are made based on financial need.

    8th Grade Graduation Pictures
    The 8th grade will be taking their cap and gown pictures on Tuesday, January 14th
    Star Assessment
    The second round of Star Assessment will take place on Thursday, January 16th for grades 3 - 8 and on Friday, January 17th for 2nd grade. 
    Mid-term Exams
    Mid-term Exams will be given from January 17th to January 24th for grades 5th - 8th as follows:
    1/17 - Religion
    1/21 - Math
    1/22 - Language Arts
    1/23 - Science
    1/24 - Social Studies
    Martin Luther King Day of Service
    The Freehold Clergy  Association is offering a beautiful day of service on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Monday, January 20.  There is no charge for this day of service.  Students grades 6 through 12 are invited to participate.  The packet of information needs to be returned in order for registration to be final as soon as possible.
    Please remember that there is no parking permitted in the "U" shaped lot on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 3:30 and 6:00 pm while Religious Education in is session.
    Please Continue to help out our 1st Grade Class
    Our first grade class is continuing to collect food to be donated to the Open Door Food Pantry.  If you would like to donate please send in with your child any canned or boxed items.  Please have them drop their donations off to Mrs. Wall's first grade classroom - 1A - Room 9 before they go to their homeroom.  
    We are putting on a show!!
    Show dates: Friday and Saturday, May 15th and May 16th
    Rehearsals and production work will begin in January.
    Parent volunteers are needed to help with all aspects of the show: rehearsals, costumes, sets, fundraising, playbill, tickets, and stage crew including sound and lighting.

    Lunch Program Information
    St. Rose is offering our hot lunch program to our students.  
    Please remember that drinks do not come with the hot lunch.  You may purchase a drink at the snack bar for $1.00 or you may purchase milk for the whole school year (click on the link below).

    St. Rose of Lima will offer the following sports this spring:

    Varsity (grades 6, 7 and 8) Baseball
    Boys Varsity (grades 7 and 8) Volleyball
    Boys JV (grades 5 and 6) Volleyball
    Girls Varsity (grades 7 and 8) Volleyball 
    Girls JV (grades 5 and 6) Volleyball

    Please visit the school website and sign up. Even if you signed up previously in the fall, please sign up again. 
    Tryouts and practices will begin in late February / early March. 
    Remember - teams can only be formed if there are enough players and coaches. 
    If able to help coach one of our teams, please indicate in the sign up.

    New PTA Announcements and Events

    Dine to Donate with Fireside 
    Please join us on Wednesday, January 29 at Fireside Grill and Bar in Marlboro for a special "Dine to Donate" event.  Treat yourself to a night off from cooking, and Fireside will make a donation to the PTA! 

    PTA Meeting
    Our next general meeting will take place on Tuesday, January 21st, at 6 pm in the first floor conference room.  Please park near the gym and enter through the door used for dismissal.  All are welcome to attend.
    Recess Rooms
    We are collecting gently used (all pieces intact) board games and puzzles for use in our new recess rooms.  Please send your items to school with your child, or drop them off in the school office.  Thank you!
    Save the Date - Grandparents Day
    This year's celebration of Grandparents Day will be held on Thursday, January 30th, during Catholic Schools Week.  Stay tuned for more details.
    Valentine Dessert Party
    Our 3rd Annual Valentine Dessert Party will be held on Friday, February 7th, from 6-8 pm in the school cafeteria.  Signups will be available shortly.  If you would like to help plan this fun, free event, please contact Elizabeth at

    Looking for a simple and practical way to support our school?  We are selling large reusable grocery totes for only $2. To purchase send in the completed order form to school.

    Box Tops for Education
    We will continue to collect paper Box Tops as long as they are not expired.  If you have any collected so far, please send them to school in a baggie labeled with your student's name.  As an incentive, we offer free snack coupons for every 100 Box Tops a student submits.

    Recycling - Go Green and Earn Rewards!

    The SRL PTA and Elizabeth Ginn-Scott are proud to bring to our school this year a presentation of THE LION KING performed by our students! In order to do so, we are going to need a ton of help and volunteers. 
    Purchasing gift cards has never been easier! When you buy directly from the PTA Scrip program,  we receive a percentage of the total value in donation. You pay only face value - nothing more!  To participate: Just print the order form, fill out what you would like, send it in to the office attention: PTA gift cards/scrip with your check or cash by the order deadline.
