PTA Book Fair Family Event:  "Eyes of the Wild"   Animal Rescue & Education
on Tuesday evening, October 9. See flyer for more information. Details will be sent home about students "shopping" at the book fair during school time.

    • Saturday, September 29: "Yard Sale Extravaganza" from 9:00AM to 2:00PM (Rain or Shine). Concession stand will be open! "Turn your trash into cash!" Due September 26.
    • School Directory: our eleventh annual School Directory will be available to all of our St. Rose families.  The directory provides contact information to the school families. 
    • The St. Rose of Lima School Directory Yellow Pages features business listings.  If you would like to advertise, you can do it here FOR FREE!!  Our community is full of talented professionals who can be of help if a service is needed.
We are eagerly looking forward to the first week in October when chorus rehearsals will begin with Mr. Joseph Dalton, our music teacher. The schedule for the Autumn of 2018 will be published in the near future.

Genesis (our diocesan gradebook)
The parent portal in Genesis opened late in the day on September 18. You should have received further information via an e-mail from Genesis directly about how to access and use it. If you have questions, please contact Mrs. Karen Archer via e-mail .

Update: car line in the morning
 Our "car rider" committee has met twice and we hope to have our plan to you next week. We continue to ponder ways to increase the safety, caring, and efficiency for our car line. We are grateful for the ideas shared and for your patience. Committee members include: Mrs. Gina Mancini (new family with 1 student), Mrs. Elizabeth Hierl (family with 2 students), Mrs. Jane Barkalow (EDP director and Preschool aide) and Mr. John Synkowski (SRL facilities staff), and Sr. Mary Helen. 

Parent Handbook: The distribution of our 2018-2019 school handbook is delayed until next week. Thank you for your patience and support.

Sports: Each week we will provide information about our sports program as needed. We aim to include any changes in the schedule here for your planning.     • Our Extended Day Program (EDP) needs additional staff (paid) on three days. Interested persons, please provide a short resume, three references, and updated background check credentials for working with children.     • First Reconciliation: Saturday, March 9, 2019 at 9:30 and 11:30AM in the Chapel.
    • Confirmation: Friday, May 3, 2019 at 2 and 4:30PM in the Chapel.
    • First Eucharist: Sunday, May 5, 2019 at the 12:30PM (note that this is Sunday)
    • Parent meetings:
      • Second grade parents: Please mark your calendar for the mandatory parent meeting regarding First Reconciliation, scheduled for Wednesday, October 17, at 7PM in the Old Church. Only one parent/guardian need attend.
      • Eighth grade parents: Please mark your calendar for the mandatory parent meeting regarding Confirmation scheduled for Monday, November 12, at 7PM in the Old Church. Only one parent/guardian need attend.

Special OpportunityRepeated for your convenience A close friend of Mrs. Vairette (grade 7 teacher) tragically lost her only son. To honor him, she has started a non-profit called A Moment to Smile. The charity helps children who have lost a parent to the disease of addiction. They are having a fundraiser on October 6 in Pt. Pleasant Beach. It is going to be a combination scavenger hunt and raffle. You can view the complete list on their website at under the "Fundraising Event" page.
