A Few Things to Mention....
I was delighted with all of the energy we experienced at our Back to School Night. It was wonderful to see so many happy people. I am truly blessed to be the newest member of the St. Rose of Lima School Family! I am looking forward to the many events we are planning to host this year. Thank you to everyone who signed up to volunteer for our events. There is still time to volunteer, so if you have not already done so, please consider sharing your gifts of time and talent with us.
This week I visited several classes, and had the opportunity to see our talented teachers working hard for our students, and our students eagerly engaged in learning. I was able to observe lessons on the metric system, lands and cultures both near and far, the tenets of our faith and learning to live the life Jesus intended. It was a rewarding experience.
This week I met with three students who are members of the SRL Student Council. They asked me about wearing their team jersey to school when they have games. They agreed with my idea to allow them to wear their team jersey on the day following a winning game. We are all working to promote School Spirit! Go Jaguars!
Just an observation of the morning drop off of students, when you pull up to the back of the school, it is okay if students exit from several cars in the drop off line simultaneously, and not just the one that is in the front of the line. If this practice is followed continuously, several cars will be ready to exit the property quickly allowing for the next grouping to pull up. I noticed that some parents already do this, but there are others that do not. Remember that if your child is in a car or booster seat and requires assistance to exit the car, then parking is required.
We are looking for donations of new or like new Lego sets for our younger students to enjoy during recess in the winter months. This might be a good time to consider cleaning out what your children no longer play with. Thank you in advance for your help!
Be sure to support the Student Council bake sale scheduled for Thursday, September 26th.
Congratulations to our students who participated in the first Cross Country Track meet last Sunday. We are so proud of your success! Also a shout out to our soccer players and coaches too! We appreciate all of your hard work!
A Thought for the Week...
